On March 2-3, a scientific and practical conference was held to summarize the implementation and define the development vectors of the technological projects of the Ural Research and Education Center (REC). Key participants included universities, research institutes, and industrial partners.
In 2022, UrIC (as an industrial partner) received a grant to implement a project for the production of servo drives with hydrostatic guides in cooperation with South Ural State University (SUSU) in Chelyabinsk.
Dmitry Ardashev, Doctor of Technical Sciences at SUSU, spoke about the plans for implementing the project for the production of servo drives with hydrostatic guides, which received a grant of 5 million rubles from the Ural REC:
"We plan to prepare design documentation in 2023, patent the design of the position sensor, manufacture a prototype of the sensor, develop a special test bench for testing the sensor, and start working on technological solutions for organizing production at the partner's industrial sites. Further plans include refining the technology and transitioning to mass production, complete with technological and production equipment. By 2024-2025, we aim to fully launch domestic production of position sensors, including their integration into servo drives. The global expected result of this project is to completely replace the imported servo drive product by 2026."
"Urals Engineering Center has been producing servo drives for over 25 years. Until 2022, we successfully used imported sensors in production. However, supply difficulties arose, and we decided to develop these sensors in collaboration with SUSU to completely move away from imported products," said Aleksei Bagautdinov, Executive Director of LLC "UrIC".
