The transition of the pipe industry to a new technological paradigm was the main topic of the XXIV International Scientific and Practical Conference "PIPES-2021," held on September 21-22 in the city of Chelyabinsk at the Russian Scientific Research Institute of the Pipe Industry. One of the key issues discussed by specialists was the digitalization of the industry, particularly the use of digital twins in the development of new products and the organization of the technological process.
The Ural Engineering Center (UralIC) was represented by Alexey Baturin, Head of the Automation Department (ACS TP), who delivered a report on the topic: "Test Stand for Cyclical Testing of Pipes Under Internal Pressure". The stand is equipped with a modern control system and can operate in automatic mode. It is popular among metallurgical companies producing pipe products as well as oil and gas enterprises. Destructive testing methods are used on the stand.
Historically, UralIC has extensive experience in implementing projects for the pipe industry and is a developer of unique test stands.
