From April 11 to 13, Chelyabinsk hosted the VIII Annual International Seminar on "Comprehensive Solutions for the Organization of Repair, Modernization, and Installation of Mechanical and Hydraulic Equipment for Metallurgical Enterprises. Equipment for Testing and Monitoring. Practical Experience: Service, Mobile Teams, Technical Audit." The organization of such seminars has already become a good tradition of the Ural Engineering Center.
More than 20 companies from Germany and Russia participated in the seminar, demonstrating the latest equipment and technologies in metallurgy, meeting the most modern requirements. In addition, representatives of leading metallurgical plants from Russia and Ukraine were present at the seminar, including Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant, ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, Chelyabinsk Electrometallurgical Plant, Uralvagonzavod, Elektrostal, Severstal, and others.
On the first day, companies such as SMS-Siemag presented reports ("Overview of the work of our service center in Russia" and "Thermographic service and our future steps in its use in hydraulics and media systems"), SMS-Cheltec ("Extending the life of copper plates and improving slab quality by using coatings on copper mold plates in continuous casting machines"), TNK Lubricants ("Effective use of lubricants. TNK hydraulic oils and fire-resistant fluids"), Parker Hannifin ("Axial piston pumps for industrial drives"), SIMEM Ural ("Features of water treatment and closed water circuits at metallurgical enterprises. Presentation of new flotation technology developed by SIMEM S.p.A. - nano-flotation"), ATOS SPA ("High-tech solutions from ATOS"), as well as specialists from the Ural Engineering Center ("Testing equipment. Experience in applying it at metallurgical and machine-building enterprises", "Organization and operation of service centers by Ural Engineering Center at metallurgical enterprises", "Modernization of the hydraulic system and control system of Press 103 at VSMPO-AVISMA", "Experience of Ural Engineering Center in the modernization of the Bolshoi Theatre, Moscow"). The day ended with a gala dinner dedicated to the opening of the seminar.
On the second day, companies such as Lechler ("Secondary cooling during continuous steel casting"), FESTO-RF ("Automation technology from FESTO in the metallurgy and pipe industries"), Ural Lubricant Company ("Use of fire-resistant hydraulic oils"), and representatives of the Ural Engineering Center ("Comprehensive modernization of the VERRINA (Italy) folding machine at Uralhimmash OJSC, Yekaterinburg", "FUCHS electric arc furnaces – new technologies", "Project for the creation of a unified Engineering Center in the Ural region (ROSNANO project)") delivered reports.
On the third day of the seminar, participants visited the production facilities of the Ural Engineering Center, the SMS-Cheltec crystallizer repair site, and the Welding Alloys roll restoration site for continuous casting machines.
